Updated pictures

Our household has been crazy busy lately but everything is going really well. My brother Graham got married this past weekend. (Laurel, welcome to the family...officially!) It was a very fun-filled weekend, but also pretty chaotic! Hannah was a flower girl and William slept through it. I will have more on the wedding and some pictures another time. It was an interesting experience having a 2 year old flower girl but we had a blast.
Hannah does better and better with her new brother every day. She loves her brother very much although we still have to figure out the meaning of "gentle"... All in all, she is doing terrific.
William is pretty great himself. He is starting to be awake and alert more during the day but he is still pretty laid back. He sleeps 4-6 hours at a time at night so I actually don't feel too sleep deprived. He is growing and changing so much! We still can't figure out who he looks like. Feel free to weigh in with your opinion! =) I think he, like Hannah, just looks like his own person. Not a spitting image of either of us.

After the last post I realized we hardly had any pictures of William with his eyes open. We have taken a few so here they are.
Well, he is not awake in this one, but I thought it was cute! =)
William's first bath in the big tub. Hannah was a BIG help!
A comparison pic! Hannah is on the Right, William is on the Left. Many people have said William reminds them of Hannah as a baby. I'm just not seeing it...

Last but not least, a few pictures of Hannah during her recent trip to the aquarium. She and Jason had a "Daddy-Daughter Date" while William and I attended the Bridesmaids luncheon. Since her favorite song to sing is Baby Beluga, the beluga whales were a HUGE hit!

Alive and Well

Sorry it has been so long since our last update. We are still doing really well. Hannah is adjusting and trying really hard to be a "big girl". All things considered she is doing extremely well. She has her moments where she acts out or has a whiny melt down but I think its as much of her being 2 as it is having a new brother. She loves William and wants to hold him and share her toys all the time.
William is still a champ so far. He is on the newborn eat, sleep, and poop schedule. He is awake some during the day but he is pretty laid back during those times. He just looks out the window or likes to be held. He is a very easy baby but it is only day 11 so we will see how things go. So far he has been a dream!
OK, so I know all you really want is pictures so here you go. I just realized how few I have on my camera. I'll work on taking some more! =)

More Pictures!

This post was supposed to go out Friday but we lost our internet connection at the hospital... SO here it is a few days late!

William is officially 24 hours old! He is so perfect. So far he is very sweet and good natured. He had his circumcision today which was sad but he is sleeping it off now. Here are some of my favorite pictures from last night and today.

Our first official family photo. Hannah was with us in spirit! =)

We are home now and adjusting to the newest addition to our family. Hannah is back with us so now are just figuring out our new dynamics. I will try to get back on and post more pictures and updates soon! As for now, things are a little more difficult than I imagined but also more perfect than I could have hoped for. Thanks for checking in!

Meet William Russell Simmons

He's here, all 8lbs 14 oz, and 21 inches long. Delivery was a breeze at about 3 pm. She pushed for about 3 minutes, and there he was. Abby was amazing. She's doing wonderful now.

He has had his bath, and evaluation and everything is great. He doesn't fuss (knock on wood) unless someone is poking or pulling on him. It appears he is going to be as happy of a baby as Hannah was. Enjoy the pics for now. We'll write more later.

No baby yet

Just a little update. Abby received an epidural around 11:45. Mike and Kathy Tucker are here as well as Cissie. Before the epidural, the pitosin was doing its job and Abby had about 30 seconds to breathe between contractions. They slowed the pitosin, which helped a good bit, and then gave Abby the epidural, which changed everything and now we are watching Fox News and chatting. The experts are thinking we may have a baby in an hour or two.

Abby's bp got a little low and the baby's heart rate began to be affected by the contractions. They are mildly concerned that the chord may be wrapped or something like that, but they gave abby something to get her bp back up and the baby's heartrate is presently not affected by the contractions.

Abby's totally comfortable, still has good feeling and control of her lower half and we are waiting for him to drop a little more so we can get him.

Check later for another update.

Our Arrival

Well, here we are, nice and comfy. No news to report. We'll keep you posted.

Hello from Hannah!

As many of you know, Hannah is at the beach this week with my family. Jason and I obviously could not go as we are about to be in the hospital but we felt the best thing for Hannah was to go ahead and go without us. I never imagined how tough it would be!!! I knew I would miss her but I find myself looking through pictures and videos more often than I thought I would. I just miss her so much! Luckily my Mom and I have kept in close contact! I have gotten to speak with Hannah a few times but you can tell she is too busy to really talk. Mom was so sweet and sent Jason and I some pictures last night of Hannah having a blast on the beach. I cried, of course, but I loved seeing them!
Day 1: Off to a slow start. After getting sunscreen in her eye first thing in the morning, she fussed until she fell asleep under the tent on the beach for 2 hours. After that little pick me up, she was good to go! We've all been there, right?

Posing for Grandma. Apparently she was grumpy by this point. Too many pictures...

Picture of the week

This sums up why Jason needs a little boy. He wants a tussling buddy and as you can see, Hannah is not interested in the job...

Precious Giggles

In case you are in need of a laugh...
This video was taken about a month ago. It has taken me that long to get it uploaded... I love how their little giggles are so contagious! Make sure your volume is turned up, especially in the beginning or else you will miss the, "watch this Mommy"!

If you subscribe to these posts through email, you have to actually visit the website (www.jasimmonsfamily.blogspot.com) in order to see the videos!
