It's a....

What started out to be a boring day of running errands turned into a fantastic day ending with a huge revelation!!!
Hannah and I had to run up to Egleston (the hospital where I used to work) today to grab a few things. While we were there we went by to see my friend Duane, the ultrasound guru at Children's. He was able to squeeze me into his very busy schedule and did an ultrasound to see if he could detect the sex of the new baby.

With the help of my good friends, Kimberly and Kristi, Hannah and I left the hospital with a very important secret sealed up in an envelope. The hard part about the day was that Hannah and I were not going to return home until late in the evening and I definitely wanted to wait to be with Jason before we opened the envelope.

That may have been the longest 8 hours of my life!!! But, I was able to resist. Tonight Jason and I found out that we are having a little BOY!!!! We are so thrilled...and shocked. I think we were both pretty convinced we were having another girl.

I don't know what Hannah is going to think about having a little boy running around, stealing her dolls and messing up her tea sets... I do know that she is going to be a great big sister. I am so excited for her and can't wait for her to recognize him as an actual person instead of the imaginary being she points to in my tummy! =)

The girl then boy scenario has been a joy for us. We like variety! Hannah's a lucky girl to get a little brother; my own little brother was a pretty cool playmate. My life would not have been nearly as adventurous without him. Congratulations!

I'm so excited! Graham is too...He told me he has the first player for his baseball team.

Hannah will be a great big sis!

We are very excited to get the good news in Texas! We are also looking forward to our action packed visit in July - we are calling it three babies and a wedding. :)
Congratulations - we can't wait to meet him and see all of you.

Wow, I am so impressed with your Family Blog...so high-tech!! Of, course CHOA would not allow me to open it at work- that is why I am just now getting to it. A boy!! I am so happy for you all! I felt so honored and will never forget being with you and Hannah on this special day. I was about as mesmerized by the ultrasound pictures (or "baby on the tv") as Hannah...I am no expert but I could tell that HE is already perfect!! Congratulations!!
Love, Kristi
